It Pays to Get Adventist Education

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Berean, our God knows what’s best for His children. And when others take note of God’s system of training up a child the way he should go, God is glorified!

I just had to share with you excerpts from an article extolling the virtues of Adventist education. Ms. Elissa Kido, writing for “The Christian Science Monitor,” stated: “The Seventh-Day Adventists’ holistic curriculum serves as a model for how to overcome that gap—the disparity in academic performance between low-income and minority students and their peers in higher-income communities. But even more, it shows how to narrow the gap between mind, body, and spirit, truly educating students for success.” She said that holistic learning does indeed result in greater student achievement.

She mentioned that we are the second largest Christian school system in the world, and that we have been steadily outperforming the national average—across all demographics. “While we have long believed in the effectiveness of the holistic approach Adventist schools take, we wanted to quantify, empirically, how well students in Adventist schools perform. Even we were surprised by the results. Our four-year, independently financed study showed that students at

Adventist schools outperformed their peers at the national average in every subject area.” And, “One of our most dramatic findings is that students who transferred to Adventist schools saw a marked improvement in academic achievement. The more years a student attended an Adventist school, the more his or her performance improved.” [Emphasis mine.]

“Wherever in Israel God’s plan of education was carried into effect, its results testified of its Author.” Education, page 45. Our children need our help to obtain this holistic, God-centered education. Let’s continue to support Christian education by placing our love gifts in the baskets that are brought to us by the children at Offering time or in a tithe envelope (indicate the amount on the Education/Scholarship line). Thank you so much!
