Dangers of Genetically Modified Foods

Danger on the Horizon:
Genetically Modified Foods Man-Made Lab Developed  Genetically Modified Organisms have had specific changes introduced into their DNA by genetic engineering techniques whereby genes from one species are forced into the DNA of other species.
 
The present GMO list:
Sugar cane, Sweet peppers, Tomatoes, Bananas, Strawberries, Soy bean, Corn, Potatoes, Pineapples, Cocoa beans, Yellow squash, and Zucchini.
 
Dangers:
The increase in several diseases in North America may be due to the profound changes in our diet. The most radical change occurred over a decade ago when genetically modified (GM) crops were introduced. Their influence on health has been largely ignored, but recent studies show serious problems. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) have been linked to thousands of toxic or allergic-type reactions, thousands of sick, sterile, and dead livestock, and damage to virtually every organ and system studied in lab animals.
 
What We Must Do:
Use only organically grown fruit and vegetables. Organic crops are grown using no genetic modification or toxic pesticides and herbicides.
• Be careful to eat only organic varieties of popcorn and corn. They are very often genetically modified.
• When you're shopping for meat and dairy products, be sure to look for the hormone and antibiotic-free, organic, range fed information on the label.

• Avoid canola oil and cottonseed oil. Use instead, organic sources of grape seed oil, virgin coconut oil, hempseed oil and olive oil that are available at organic and whole foods markets. Visit www.truefoods.org for the extensive list of foods and brand names that contain GMOs.
